Here at my house (CompuVices) we had 9 foot of
water in my yard. 5 foot inside the house, along
with 3 inches of mud. Alot of the damage here at
Cypremort Point was from the water.

Hurricane, Tropical Cyclone  All Hurricanes are tropical cyclones made up by low-pressure centers and many thunderstorms. The Atlantic Ocean is the main area for tropical cyclones. The fourth Hurricane of 2005 was Rita.

 Here are some facts about Rita. In 2005 there were 5 major hurricanes, Dennis, Emily, Katrina, Rita and Wilma. Rita was the strongest hurricane of the 2005 season. Rita was also the most intense tropical cyclone ever recorded in the Gulf of Mexico. Rita started on September 17 2005 just south of the Florida Keys and was over on September 24 2005. Rita’s wind speeds were recorded as high as 180 mph and the pressure was 895 mbar. By the time Rita made landfall she was rated a category 3 hurricane with winds at 115 mph. Rita delivered a storm surge of around 8 to 12 foot above sea level that caused extensive damages. Approximately two million people lost electricity. Damages was estimated at approximately $10 billion dollars making Rita the ninth-costliest storm in United States history.
